Robert Klein Gallery was established in 1980 on Newbury Street in Boston and is one of the world’s most respected galleries dedicated exclusively to fine art photography.
The gallery’s program spans 19th-century, 20th-century, and contemporary work, with early exhibitions featuring Diane Arbus, Annie Leibovitz, Sally Mann, and Hiroshi Sugimoto. Robert Klein served as President of the Association of International Photography Art Dealers from 1995 to 2008 and played a central role in expanding The AIPAD Photography Show to the Park Avenue Armory, establishing it as one of the leading photography fairs in the world.
The gallery maintains an active and internationally recognized contemporary program, representing and exhibiting leading photographers such as Rania Matar, Cig Harvey, Julie Blackmon, Olivia Parker, Sebastião Salgado, Jeffrey Milstein, Stephen Wilkes, and Andrew Moore, as well as the estate of Gordon Parks, Yousuf Karsh, among others. With a strong commitment to both established and emerging voices, the gallery continues to support artists whose work expands the language and relevance of photography today and how it integrates and dialogs with the broader visual arts.
Throughout its history, the gallery has participated in major international art fairs including Paris Photo, Art Basel, Photo London, The Armory Show, and Art Miami. For more than four decades, it has served as a trusted resource for collectors and institutions alike.
