Vessel
A vessel is an object that holds something–artifacts, keepsakes, an idea. We make vessels as reliquaries for memories, grief, memento mori, the remains of a loved one. Our heart is an arrangement of vessels. A seed is a vessel that germinates a life. A vase holds natural beauty in our homes. A ship is built to connect us across vast distances.
A vessel is at once a body that contains, that journeys, that frees, and holds fast. Makers across time and industries have put together collections and unified their work into series from fine artists to department stores. Vessel is a vessel for a dozen artists each showing a vessel collection.
