Summer Artist Residency

Brookline Arts Center

86 Monmouth Street, Brookline, MA

Project Development: June 15 - July 25

Exhibition Dates: July 26 - Sept 5

This exhibition features work by the Brookline Arts Center 2026 summer resident artist, selected through an open calls for artist working across visual, interdisciplinary, and social engaged practices. During the residency, the artist will develop new work on site while engaging with the Brookline Arts Center community through public programming, dialogue, and creative exchange.

Depending on the selected artist practice the exhibition may include installation, sculpture, painting, video, fiber, performance-based elements, or mixed media approaches that activate the gallery in dynamic ways.

The summer residency is designed to support experimentation, research, and the development of ambitious new ideas by providing time, space, and institutional resources to an emerging or established artist. The exhibition highlights the value of process driven artistic practice and create an opportunity for audiences to encounter work and a meaningful state of development.

By centering an artist and residence, the Brookline art center continues it’s commitment to foster and creative growth, expanding access to creative experiences, and strengthening connections between artist and community. The exhibition invites visitors to experience newly realize work that reflects the energy, inquiry, and transformation made possible through dedicated time and support.
