Sideways Sculpture System

The Sideways Sculpture System is a modular public artwork and cultural infrastructure prototype installed at Franklin Street in Allston. Moving between sculpture, street furniture, tactical urbanism, and civic space, the work functions less as a static object than as a framework for public life—supporting gathering, performance, play, rest, and everyday social interaction.

Developed by EXIT Galleries in collaboration with the City of Boston, the installation will remain on view and in participation through October 2026, evolving through ongoing public use and cultural programming.
