Boston Busing in Chinatown, 1975-2025 is a large-scale outdoor photo exhibition from artist and filmmaker Daphne Xu highlighting the mothers, students, and teachers who organized for educational equity in 1975, the year that Boston Public Schools began busing elementary school students to other neighborhoods. Juxtaposing existing photographic archives with new images of the same activists 50 years later, Xu's work illuminates a fuller accounting of the Chinatown community's collective efforts that deepens our understanding of the legacies and impacts of busing across Boston as a whole.
