2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the Boston Urban Wilds natural area conservation program. Since 1976 the Urban Wilds program has sought to protect wooded and wetland areas that persist in our neighborhoods outside of the City’s parks system. Today, the Urban Wilds program provides Boston’s residents with access to forests, marshes, pollinator meadows, and other natural habitats rarely found in cities. This exhibition presents photographs by Lisa McCarty that portray this important spaces throughout the city.
