MassArt x SoWa is pleased to present the gallery’s fourteenth alumni curatorial project, THE WORLD SPINS TO BRING US CLOSER, on view October 9 - December 6, 2026.

Curated by Gabriela Gamboa (MFA-LR '14), THE WORLD SPINS TO BRING US CLOSER brings together four Venezuelan women artists whose work explores memory, territory, displacement, and belonging through paper, video, sculpture, and mixed media. Drawing on the sensibility of their homeland, the artists transform fragments of history and experience into material forms that move between the intimate and the geographic. Together, the works create a shifting, layered portrait of connection—where distance, memory, and place converge.
