A Él Mismo is both altar and offering, an imagined timeline where violence and erasure by Spanish colonization never took place, allowing Pre-Hispanic cultures to flourish into the present day. Through sculptural works and intimate portraits of ‘mi Abuela, mi Abuelo, mi Mama, mi hermano, y yo mismo,’ De Restrepo gives form to ancestry, migration, and the unbroken thread of cultural memory.
