2026 Emerging Artists Exhibit

The twenty-one rising artists selected for the 2026 Emerging Artists Exhibition have disparate material and conceptual works, showcasing varied printmaking techniques, innovative use of textile practices such as crochet and quilt, and experimentation across charcoal, pastel, painting, and mixed media. For my selection, I approached the diversity of subject matter and style across nearly ninety submissions as an anchor point to build upon. Difference is the tether here—this selection of art offers a polyphonic glimpse at the vastness of the human experience, the natural world, the built environment, and the creative materials or processes that emerging artists use to engage with these timeless topics. Altogether, each artwork demonstrates a richness in materiality or a cleverness in composition that invites closer looking and rewards curiosity.-Jasper A. Sanchez (juror)
